Job-seekers of all ages face discrimination in the workplace; young people have a harder time breaking into the workforce than their elders do; and data from a wide range of countries shows that the employment rates of older workers and younger workers are unrelated. In economics, this last premise is commonly referred to as the “Lump of Labor Fallacy.”
