Purpose

The purpose of this discussion is to explore the responsibilities of the DNP-prepared nurse as a project manager. The project manager has the lead role and responsibility for project success. Project managers are accountable for the project scope, project team, resources, and the success or failure of the project. Our discussion this week allows us to look at activities in the project planning and implementation phases.

1-Examine why is it important to identify stakeholders and the project team early on when undertaking a project.

2-Consider the organizational culture where you plan to implement your DNP project. Describe organizational cultural barriers that may be present that will need to be overcome for project success.

You must proofread your paper. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
