The Impact Of Workforce Heterogeneity On Team Performance

The Impact Of Workforce Heterogeneity On Team Performance

Employees in today’s modern workplace frequently switch between different teams and responsibilities throughout the course of a day. Groups in organizations can be homogeneous if their members share many similar characteristics (such as roles, gender, race and ethnicity, age, experience on the job, function, and/or position in the hierarchy), or heterogeneous if their members have many different characteristics. The Impact Of Workforce Heterogeneity On Team Performance

As a result of technological advancements and increased international trade, companies now have the option of assembling teams with members from all over the globe. Workers are increasingly expected to adjust to interacting with people from different backgrounds in the workplace. Performance and morale can both improve and suffer from a lack of homogeneity within a team.

Post by Day 4 descriptions of what you believe to be the most positive and most negative potential impacts of workforce heterogeneity (both functional and demographic) on team performance. Justify your answer. Then, describe the most positive and most negative impacts of workforce heterogeneity on employee satisfaction.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources as well as additional peer-reviewed, scholarly resources.

  • What resources did you use to guide your decision?

What does the code of ethics and professional standards for your profession say      about  diversity?

Your initial post must be a minimum of 250 words, not including restatement of questions or reference sections. Posts must include adequate depth and scholarly understanding of concepts that are appropriate for this level of education. They must go beyond summarizing concepts and must utilize aspects of critical thinking and advanced application. You must include references from the course textbook and at least one peer-reviewed journal article, using appropriate APA citations.

Locate a peer-reviewed journal article that focuses on diversity in the workplace.

Analyze and report on the article. Be sure you complete the following:

Summarize the article’s important points.

How could you apply the information that you learned in this article to your current or future work situation?

Cite and reference your text and the peer-reviewed journal article in your initial post.

Include the journal article’s persistence link.

Complete this assignment using the DAA template.

Step 2. Write Section 1 of the DAA. Provide a context of the journal article. Include a definition of the specified variables and corresponding scales of measurement. Specify the sample size of the data set. If applicable, discuss why the journal article is relevant to your career specialization.

Step 3. Write Section 2 of the DAA. Discuss the assumptions of the statistical test used in the journal article. If possible, identify information in the article that indicates how these assumptions were tested. If no information on assumptions is provided, consider this as a limitation of the reported study.

Step 4. Write Section 3 of the DAA. Specify a research question related to the journal article. Articulate the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis. Specify the alpha level if it is provided in the article. The Impact Of Workforce Heterogeneity On Team Performance

Step 5. Write section 4 of the DAA. Report the results of the statistical test using proper APA guidelines. This includes the statistical notation (e.g., Fb coefficient, χ2), the degrees of freedom, the statistical value of Fb coefficient, χ2, and the p¬-value. Also report the effect size and interpretation if one is provided. Interpret the test statistic against the null hypothesis.

Step 6. Write Section 5 of the DAA. Discuss the conclusions of the statistical test as it relates to the research question. Conclude with an analysis of the strengths and limitations of the study reported in the journal article.
