Preparation

  1. Using either the Journal of Community Health or the American Journal of Public Health, find two articles that meet the following criteria:
  • Article must have been published within the past 5 years.
  • Article must be about an effective community-based (not school-based) health promotion program conducted in the United States.
  • At least one of the programs must use an intervention activity other than, or in addition to, traditional instructor-led education.
  • Article must include impact and/or outcome data.
  • Article must include a thorough description of the program, including setting, target population, length and frequency of intervention activity.
  1. Both articles may come from one of the journals, or you may select one article from each journal.
