NRS 493 Capstone Change Project Evaluation And Dissemination.
Capstone Change Project Evaluation And Dissemination.
Topic 10 DQ 2
Evidence-based practice is now widely recognized as the key to improving healthcare quality and patient outcomes (Chien, 2019). So EBP is an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN. The BSN curriculum is more focused on EBP and providing high-quality education and skills training for the students. Evidence-based practice demands changes in the education of students, more practice-relevant research, and closer working relationships between clinicians and researchers. Moreover, it provides opportunities for nursing care to be more individualized, more effective, streamlined, and dynamic, and to maximize the effects of clinical judgment (Youngblut & Brooten, 2001).
The writer will continue to observe problems in the nursing practice and find a possible solution. With interprofessional collaboration, will implement intervention and evaluate the result, and present to the health care workers for information. Besides that, continue to encourage staff to practice EBP. The possible challenges may be lack of motivation of staff and nurse shortage however, the writer believes that continuous education and motivation of nursing staff can bring positive outcomes.
Discuss why EBP is an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN. Identify two ways in which you will continue to integrate evidence into your practice and encourage it within your work environment. What obstacles could challenge this plan, and what steps will you take to minimize their impact?
Using 200-300 words APA format with at least two references. Sources must be published within the last 5 years. There should be a mix between research and your reflections. Add critical thinking in the posts along with research. Apply the material in a substantial way.
Capstone Change Project Evaluation Plan Instructions
The assignment will be used to develop a written implementation plan.
Step 1) Review your strategic plan to implement the change proposal, the objectives, the outcomes, and listed resources.
Step 2) Develop a process to evaluate the intervention if it were implemented.
Step 3) Write a 150-250 word summary of the evaluation plan that will be used to evaluate your intervention.
Address the following in your summary:
What data was collected?
What tool will be used to collect the data?
Who will be responsible for collecting data?
How will this data be communicated to the team?
Capstone Change Project Evaluation Plan Example
An evaluation plan is essential in monitoring the effectiveness of evidence-based practice (EBP) after implementation. It involves data collection and compares the post-intervention with the pre-intervention outcomes. A positive outcome would be an improvement in the primary outcomes. Therefore, if this project were to be implemented, an evaluation plan would be necessary to assess the level of nurses’ knowledge as well as the incidence of ventilatory-associated pneumonia (VAP).
Data collection would include the use of surveys and interviews. The survey will include a clinical pulmonary intervention (CPI) scale that assesses various parameters of VAP. Conversely, interviews would be essential in assessing nurses’ knowledge and experience with the intervention. Structure questioners with both open-ended and closed-ended questions will be relevant to be used. Such will help in making adjustments and improving the approach to the EBP. Besides, both qualitative and quantitative data will be collected.
During data collection, I will prefer to be involved. However, I would welcome the assistance of my preceptor to help me identify focused members who can collect quality data. I will also involve nurse leaders during data collection. The collected data will provide a comparison to assess the effectiveness and make a decision. Performance of the outcomes below the expected level will require a re-evaluation of the implementation plan to make adjustments that suit the project change.
Finally, I will communicate the results to my team members while allowing for contributions. The collected information can be printed for members to review or use in a presentation. The data can be addressed either through online channels such as webinars and social media, conference halls, or during stakeholder meetings. Such arrangements ensure that all data can be reviewed and then verified.
