Assignment Criteria

It is essential for mental health workers to understand the environmental influences on the community in order to develop an effective prevention program that addresses social health issues.
You are now ready to create a 5-10-minute video presentation using Zoom that focuses on the social issues you selected for this course. Make sure to sign up for a free Zoom account using your GCU email address. Imagine you have been asked to present to your community council the prevention project you have developed.
After collecting instructor feedback on your previous worksheets, revise the content to use for this video presentation, completing the following:
Needs Assessment: First, in this part of the video presentation, explain what you discovered from the assessment of your community. Include the following in your needs assessment:

Describe the culture of your community.
Describe the social issue you selected for this project as well as the target population. Explain how this social issue is affecting your target population and community stakeholders.

Explain the family and cultural influences on your target population.
Explain any existing health disparities within your community.
Finally, describe any existing evidence-based programs or practices in your community.

Core message or theme of project: Explain why you selected this type of project and the message you want to send out.
Target population: Describe the target audience and why you chose to focus on this population.
Social issue: Describe the selected social issue affecting your community.
Project outcomes/goals: Describe the objectives and goals of your project. What short-term and long-term outcomes do you want to see as a result of your project?
Evidence-based research: Citing two to four scholarly sources, explain how research supports your project design and projected outcomes.
Resources: Describe existing community resources and programs available to your target population (If children are your target population, be sure to provide resources for parents).
Project Design:
Activities: Describe the activities of your project. What will participants engage in during your project and why?
Stakeholders: Describe the stakeholders (schools, businesses, leaders, police, faith-based organizations, etc.) in your community. How can stakeholders in your community be “agents of change” in promoting and participating in the project?
Engagement: Describe how your project will engage and empower the participants, families, and your community.
Logistics: Explain how your project will be organized:
